Welcome to the Spring Fling Party! Where ANYTHING SPRING goes.
DIY, Nature, Gardens, Recipes, Spring Cleaning, an Easter Dress – anything. You name it – bring it or should I say – link it!
So grab a cupcake & let’s get this party started!
Meet my Spring Cleaning Challenge:
My Orville Redenbacher Office (via popcorn ceiling)
*Which (obviously) happens to be an A-framed room
&
*Only has 1 half workable wall
This is how it has looked for the past 2 years. We’ll blame it on the twins.
I personally gave myself 2 challenges besides getting it organized & becoming practical.
1. Make “room for more.” Because this room is not going anywhere.
2. Be thrifty in everything. Whether it’s make, buy on sale, or repurpose.
>>>this really was the funnest part outside of finishing the room.<<<
Here’s my inspirations for re-designing the room:
1. BHG 2,4,6,&10. Pottery Barn 3. Country Living 5. Tiffany & Co. 7. My Mom’s hand-me-down 8. Liberty of London 9. The MacBeth Collection 11. BHG 13. Country Living
&
for the actual Inspirational Board itself, you can see how I made it by clicking here
Now for the results:
Here’s the 1/2 desk & side wall before:.
After!
Chief & I made a peg board! Thanks from the inspiration of Country Living Mag & The Vintage Glitter House Blog for their much needed advice!
I also had the cubby shelf for a decade ago. Chief mounted it & then I realized it was the perfect fit for my pint size mason blueball jars I won off of Ebay.
*Again, trying to leave room for more – here*
Here’s the desk before:
And after:
It’s cleared!
I did use my b-day money to buy the only few things I paid full price for. As most can see, I fell in love with this print from the Liberty of London Collection @ Target. When I saw this color combo – I knew it would tie everything together.
Now the window before:
And after:
Excuse me, while I jump up & down over this window!
You see, I MADE the roman burlap shade!!! It’a a NO SEW tutorial.
My friend Christina always leads me to worlds I’ve never known…like the Little Green Notebook’s tutorial on making this roman shade. All by using a $3.99 shade from Target. I kid you not!
Now the other side of the room before:
Now after ~My sewing area & inspirational board.
The cedar library table & the large blueball Mason jars have been in Chief’s family for years. He can remember eating Moon Pies from this table when he was Graham’s age.
I personally LOVE the blue Mason jars up against the orange inspiration board. delicious!
Now across the sewing area, but on the same side before:
After:
A wrapping paper station with all the trimmings AND *room to grow!*
Eventually, we will take a road trip to Ikea (2 hrs. away) for some sort of shelving unit to go width wise across & snug up to the slope of the ceiling. In case you’re wondering about the fan, since this is an attic room in almost a 100 y.o. house – the fan is vital for the creativity outflow. I left it in the pics, because it is as it is! Needless to say, I love how this room turned out. I love the modern, vintage, rustic, country, & a little bit of glam in it. Really – I think this room describes me to a “T.” I am thrilled with the results.
Alright, that’s my Spring Cleaning Project!!!
Now let’s see what you all have in store for us!
Remember anything Spring goes! Don’t be bashful ~ link up!
*Remember to link your post up NOT your blog.
*Mix & Mingle with all the other party goers.
And leave some comment love for your fellow party peeps!

Are. You. Kidding. Me.??????????!!!!!! Jeez Kellie, you outdid yourself this time! I can’t believe what a transformation you gave this room. Love all the colors and storage solutions. And of course the L of L items! I bought a storage bin in the same fabric for my daughter’s room. Love it! I was going to be the first one at your party, but the Mr. Linky wasn’t working yet. I’ll go try again. But again, awesome job-don’t you just want to live up there now? I know I do!
Truly Fabulous! I love all the little details down to the pincushion frames! You did a great job. I will try Mr. Linky again later.
Happy Spring!

Great improvements Kellie! You’ve really been working! Love the colors & the Liberty of London too! Now come over to my party for some treats! Happy Spring!!
So, We are copying each other again, I am do my basement in blue and orange, too funny. I love this room and the lamp is awesome. and blue canning jars as storage, swoon. My grandmother has been giving me all her cool old canning jars they are not all blue but I am a sucker for an old jar, I use them every where for storage. Love the pin cushion idea, clever girl.
Okay now if I could just get the 47 other things on my list done so I could start my basement project.
Hope you guys have a great day,
Cha Cha
Kellie, you’ve out done yourself on this room sweetie! I love every detail. If it’s even possible, I think your creativity will flow more now that your space is so fantastic. Thanks for the paerty, I hope you have a great day!
XOXO
Nancy
Okay me again, is there a rule against how many times I can comment in one day? I sure hope not, I wanted to come back now that I have a unrushed moment and look again and I found my hands down favorite, The I’m a child of God sign, you can bet that I am copying that. Really can we just share this room and then I don’t have to start mine and we can hang out and be creative together and I can use that sewing machine that makes me drool. Thank you for being such a wonderful friend, and lucking for me you are as creative as you are nice.
Cha Cha
Off to look again to make sure that I didn’t miss something else.
Kellie, with an IE…that is GREAT! You did an amazing job and I love all of the little touches, like the lamp and the peg board. I also love those mason jars. And the WINDOW!!! You should be jumping up and down. Excellent makeover.

I have plans to work on it this week. Be here Thursday ok?
It WAS redone and then got junky. So I HOPE to stay on it THIS time!
I’m going to study this again!! It’s beautiful!! My spring project that I’ve started is in my “junk room” too…you know the neglected office/guest room.

Well aren’t you the Belle of the Ball? Fantastic project! I didn’t clean, or straighten, or makeover much of anything this weekend so I don’t have a post to add:(. Love your craft room and everything you have done to make it adorable and inviting!
it is beautiful! you did an amazing job! thanks for the befores and afters! it makes me believe I can do something with my mess of a space!
Well I hope I can get my comment in before Better Homes and Gardens invades your blog!!! Goodness Gracious! I may have to leave two or three comments to get it all in.
First of all, I am so impressed. I am trying to gather my thoughts about it all. It looks like a completely different room!! I know you must feel like the Queen when you enter your very own room and to be surrounded by such lovely, inspiring things……Big Sigh!
Secondly, I cannot wait to see how your newly organized self will be inspired going forward and what you will create next!
I love the L of L goodies. Let’s talk about that lamp. And that pin cushion. And that inspirtational board. And that pillow. Wait. Are those butterfly thumb tacks??? I can’t stand it . It’s all too much.
I am going to have to visit about 10 more times to take it all in.
I especially LOVE that little sewing nook and the wrapping paper station. I bet you will be wrapping all kinds of little goodies now. Graham better get ready, Mama may have to gift wrap his lunch every day!
I love it! Love it! Love it!!!!
Congratulations on such a wonderful accomplishment Kellie!!!!
I am just going to go ahead and say it. This WILL BE featured in a major magazine. Amen.
Love you and so proud to call you my friend.

One question, how did you get this done with 3 babies? Please share your secret, sometimes I cant seem to finish something even a sentence in a reasonable amount of time and I only have one.

Your room looks great! So eclectic, bright and fun!
What a lovely, welcoming space you have created. And I love that you did it so inexpensively…that is inspiration!
I have been lurking here since your link on Nester’s “best post of the year” link party. I was drawn to your determination in nursing twins exclusively. (Talk about an inspiration! You go, girl!) And I have continued to visit because you just exude enthusiasm and creativity.(Case in point: your New Year’s Eve party decorations…for your children! I love that!
Anyway, thanks for visiting my little blog space. Now I’m off to share some comment love, as you put it.

Kellie,
What a wonderful job you did organizing YOUR space! It’s beautiful. Thank you for the much needed inspiration and direction. Too bad you don’t live in NJ.

Great room makeover…isn’t it much easier to create in an organized place? I just got my craftroom into shape and love working in there now. Thanks for stopping by and for your sweet comments…glad I could join the party!
wow! I love it. I have an area like this upstairs too and I want to do something cool like either put a playroom up there or something. It’s all paneling, which I want to paint. I’ve been trying to go through stuff….it’s full of just stuff that has piled up. I dont know if i’d be brave enough to post photos. It’s bad. Everything basically gets thrown up there….holiday decor, outgrown clothes, etc. even though I can’t re-do the room right now you’ve inspired me to get some kind of order. I dont know where to start on how good yours looks. i love the colors….the lampshades, the mason jars, everything! bravo to you! This is magazine worthy. No lie. I’m SO impressed!
Okay, I am officially one hundred percent jealous. Seriously, you’ve done an AMAZING job!
This is one of the best room makeovers I have ever seen! I love it! LOVE IT! Everything about it.

I had that exact same frame that you have for your board, i got it all painted and then ran over it!! i dont think mines fixable – but i cant throw it away!
Thanks for stopping by my blog today and your sweet comments, i will be checking back with you often and when i have a little time to go through your “archives”
Sausha @ {show & tell}

i might have to get my butt in gear!!!
michelle…xoxo
YOU WON!!!!!!!!
Oh, Kellie…here we are getting to know one another through comments on each other’s blogs! (Isn’t that uber-modern?
But your comment to me touched a chord in my heart…that there are probably many mothers out there who lack encouragement, who need to be reminded that they are not alone, and that what they do is ultimately important!
I finished this post this morning…http://thinking-about-home.blogspot.com/2010/03/to-young-moms.html.
I had actually begun to work on it before your comment…but your words inspired me to get it done. Hope it offers you some encouragement today!
Blessings,
Cheryl
WOW!!!!!
This is an amazing transformation!
Great job. Bright and cheery, and so organized.
I’m working on my crafting room right now. What a mess in the transition.
Off to see more Spring delights!

What a dream
I love the turquoise against the bright orange on your shades.
*sigh.
i LOVE it! it looks fabulous! i adore the fun, bright color scheme–it’s whimsical and yet muted enough to be sophisticated at the same time.
i think my most favorite element is the lamp–i love the shade and LOVE that the texture shows—that blue spray paint did wonders.
fabulous!!
What is it about an office that makes it always turn into a junk room? Mine looks the same way, crates full of reports and graded exams, piles of textbooks, guitars, amps… and a tiny useless desk under there somewhere… I will have to get inspired this summer and turn it into a functional work space before internship in the fall!
Hello Kellie – you did an amazing job! Love the new lamp color, shade, and inspiration board! Thank you for sharing!
Blessings,
Marie

Wow- you did a fantastic job! Oh and the Liberty print decor is a sweet touch in the room- lovely!!!
I love how it came out! Love the LOL stuff, too. I don’t have a Target near me and am sad I missed all of the loveliness.
Oh wow, your craft room looks great!! I know that that was a lot of hard work, but it’s definitely paid off! Lovely!
http://classiclyamber.com/blog/
Oh wow, thanks for telling me to come back and take a look at your incredible craft room. Love it! Your pegboard is really cute with the blue mason jars. This inpsires me! Thanks!
What an inspiration!!! I cannot wait to start working on mine now… I have so many ideas, I just need to put them together. ~sigh~ I do have a question for you: how did you do the inspiration board picture? It looks as if you insert the pictures into the picture and I’m curious what program would help me do the same? Any assistance is GREATLY welcomed!
This is so cute! Our house is ceilings that are angled and it is hard to come up with storage ideas. Thanks for posting! I really love how this turned out.
You turned out the room so fantastic…look so relaxing and pleasant place…
