Several months ago, we discovered we lived in a Sears Catalog Home. After we read the article in Cottage Living (no longer in publication) about Sears Catalog Homes built in 1908 to 1940, we knew ours was one of many. In fact, we live in an entire neighborhood full of Sears Catalog Homes. Ours is the Clyde pictured above. It is amazing to me just looking at the sketch just how very similar my house is – 95 years later! I wish it still had all the exterior trim detail, though! I thought it would be fun for me – hopefully you too, to take a mini-tour of some neighborhood homes. Just quick drive by photos.
Graham & I call this the Seven Dwarfs’ home. He is hoping to see Snow White one day.
This was a recent reno. Wish I took some befores…
They say he has some amazing “trophies & antlers” in every room of this house.
This is the other church that I talked about in this post. It is less then a half mile away, if that. Again, I say there is nothing like the South with a church on every corner & church steeples in every cities’ skyline.
I have a few posts up my sleeve to go along with this theme of my neighborhood. Don’t worry there wont be anymore drive by photos of houses in the next few posts. As I said last week, Spring IS calling my name ~ I didn’t even leave my neighborhood last week, other then to do errands. The streets are chalk full of beauty & there is nothing but blue skies!
More to come.
Have a beautiful day!
