*check out the gourd! crafted & painted by my 4 y.o. perfect for this Fall loving mama!*
Cozy, soft, natural & fun is what I want my house to say, especially around Fall.
I’ve started adding more layers this week. So far so good with my 3 little ones. We’ll see how long it will last.
My most recent thrift finds. A pear shape wooden bowl & wash basin water pitcher. Wooden bowl $3.00 & water pitcher $5.99. I love the hunting scene layered into the porcelain. Flowers from my neighbor’s yard.
I’ve layered more into the mantel. A skeleton vase, books & some vases filled with glittered pumpkins. To be honest, I don’t know if I like it as much as I did from last week when I first debuted my Hitchcock-esque mantel. What do you all think…to my regular readers? I know it was simple before, but I love simple some of the time.
For some reason I think it looks too busy, but I’ll let you all decide.
Some of you may remember these from last year. I *heart* our staircase. Only a few pumpkins have bite marks from last year left by the twins, so I gladly put them up again! I must say, all of it still makes me smile! You can read how I made the pumpkins last year, by clicking here. Of course, I had to bring the mice back again. Thanks, Martha for bring them back again this year.
Love this happy & fun area in our home. It is perfect to me & for the kids.
Layering always makes an outfit & always makes a home to me. I have eliminated layering for far too long in this home & it’s time to see more introduced. *Fingers crossed* the twins agree on my thought process.
Isn’t Fall the best for adding layers of color as well?
Oh, how I love this season!
P.S.
The pumpkins after Halloween are turned around to spell Thankful. It’s a two for one holiday decor & I simply love both looks. Check out last year’s post. It was easy!

Oh wow, your home is lovely and your stairs are AMAZING!!! Love Fall!
Love the staircase, I wasn’t around last year in blogland, thanks for the past memory.
your home is just too cha cha for words.
Love. It!
Cute!! I love the pumpkins! I think your mantel looks great! Simple can be nice, but I like the layers, too!
I’m not kidding you about the mice. I am deathly, DEATHLY afraid of them. I’m talking nightmares, sick to my stomach, shaking, crying. Those things on your stairs would do me in! See you tomorrow at the Fall Festival! Lisa~
I love your chalkboard wall, and I was giggling about the flowers from your neighbors yard…hopefully they know you picked them, LOL!
Gorgeous, gorgeous decor!
Love the white pumpkins and mice! So cute! Thanks for sharing!

What a great staircase…I agree with everyone else…the stairs look so neat. You have a lovely home and have decorated it beautifully. Oh what I would give to have my 3 back home with me…all of them in college and I miss them! Lovely family too that you have.
Blessings,
Debbie
I love your home! You make me so excited for fall to come.
I love the pumpkins and the mice! Too cute! You’ve got a knack for layering girl. Can you rub some of it off on me? Please?
The chalkboard wall might be my favorite, too! Because it’s fun & year round & multipurpose. =)
The pumpkins are very clever and how neat that they’re double duty. Smart!
Your stairs are gorgeous – so much fun!
Beautiful! I like it! I love the mouse idea on the stairs, very unique.

Wow!!! Those stairs looks fab!!! LOve the layering too!
The little mice are adorable and I love the white pumpkins! How perfect that you switch them around after Halloween.
Cute, Cute, Cute! I love the layering! But, I agree with Pennington! Couldn’t do the mice on the stairs…but it sure looks cute at YOUR house! I’ll admire from afar! LOL!
What absolute fun your stairway and the little mice are! I love a touch of whimsy when I decorate for me or for others. I’m visiting from the Inspired Room.

Love the mice on the stairway ~ so cute! Your home is so lovely, thank you for sharing.
These ideas are fantastic. I love the stairs. The mantel is gorgeous. I love the pitcher on the table and the natural elements you used in your home. So very pretty!

I love the look of your decorations. I’ll be back to see what other ideas you have.
Love it all! The staircase is super creative, and I’m still a sucker for a chalkboard wall. I love that its only under the chair rail…very cute:)
I love those double duty pumpkins! And your birds by the fireplace are too cute!
Love your mantle and that artwork above. I really love your stairs and the pumpkins with writing on them. How cool is that! I have to say that I am so terrified of mice that I don’t know that I could walk up your stairs. I would probably have to jump over the mice. Just kidding…I love it all. Partying with you at Melissa’s.
I adore your framed pic on your mantle…that is wonderful! it might feel busy because it is the eye catcher…you probably don’t need much else!!
such wonderful ideas for fall decorating. just dropping by to say hello.
Karen
It looks great to me. What a wonderful display of silhouettes!

So glad to have found you through the Fall Nesting Party that I linked up to! I love your make over pumpkins, what a great way to get them for much cheaper, love the mice on your stairs too!
The pumpkins on the stairs almost make me wish I lived in 2-story house. So cute!!! I’m inspired once again, Kellie!
I simply can’t say just how much I LOVE your white pumpkins! Now I’m going to be on the hunt for some cheap orange ones to give a “make over” to.- Thanks for the fabulous idea! Found you from the Nester’s party, and I’m glad I did

NOT too busy, lovely. The stairs are adorable. And what a fun blackboard wall.

I’m loving your pumpkins with the letters on them. What a awesome idea to make them duel purpose with “Halloween” and “Thankful”. Think I might have to put that in my bag of tricks.
Everything looks lovely.
Thanks for sharing.
Hugs!
Love your silhouettes! That staircase is so fun~your home is just beautiful.
love that backwards and forwards pumpkin! we have a little bump out on our bottom few stairs, and i might have to do something like this. what’s a small word that could last thru fall? i guess fall. but the word fall, on stairs? maybe not so good!
You are so talented – I love that the pumpkins can beenjoyed all the way up to Thanksgiving! Suchgood ideas! Thank you for sharing!
so cute. love that staircase with the ultra-cute pumpkins and little mice. Great idea.
Hi! I’m stopping by from the Hooked on Houses party. I like the simplier Hitchcock-esque mantel better but they both look great! The pumpkins on the staircase are so clever and cute!!

Please settle a disagreement. My husband says your chalkboard wall is brown, I think it’s black. We are thinking of doing something similar and can’t agree on colors. Thanks so much!
I am really taken with your stairway pumpkin project! I started a new Random Goodness Tuesdays on my craft/review blog. Your project was the first item featured!
Now I need to be on the lookout for clearance craft pumpkins to store in my storage shed for future projects! My stairway may not be done by next Fall, but this project is definitely going in my Someday Projects List!
