Welcome to the first week of the Fall Festival. I am so excited about this entire month & I cannot wait to see what everyone has to show during the Festival! Remember anything Fall is welcome. Crafts, design, decor, favorite things, photography, recipes etc…you name it, link it up for the LOVE of all things Fall.
Ok. Let’s get to it. Here’s my project for the first week.
Can you believe I just made my first Craiglist’s purchase?
A frame for $5.00. It is a gorgeous frame. 34X34 inches. Layers upon layers of molding & a canvas matte.
But it needed alot of TLC, but for $5.00 – I knew I could do something with it.
BEFORE:
I decided to paint it a gunmetal grey & pumpkin. I also had to repaint the canvas matte around the frame.
DURING the re-painting:
And, since every good festival has a silhouette booth. I thought there should be no exception for this Fall Festival.
So
that
is
exactly
what
I
did
with
this
frame.
I got the idea of placing husband & I facing each other from a post that A cup of Joe featured months ago.
I used regular foam board for the backing & glued some granny chic scrap paper to the foam board.
I made the oval frames out of recycled craft paper & used regular copy paper for the background.
Then of course, I placed the kids facing the same direction.
I really don’t know what has taken me so long to do our family’s silhouettes. I’ve always loved this look.
And, because October is a month away…I thought I should add a few friends to our silhouette booth.
So meet my Hitchcock-esque Fall mantel.
I wish I had a wooden rocking chair in the empty corner, to play along with the Hitchcock theme. But that’s the kids path way with their cars, horsey riding & chase playing. So I dare not block their path. I’ll be lucky enough if that mum & pumpkin stays put. I guess we will all see next week, when I add some more to this mantel & room around my theme.
As you can see, I am rather partial to the Damask look. The simplicity to the silhouettes & the whimsy pumpkins added in is right up my alley for Fall. I cannot wait to keep adding some layers.
I am so anxious to visit each & everyone of you!
Remember, this Festival is going on every Wednesday in September.
Chat, comment & carry-on with some of the other party goers. Doing link parties is how I’ve made some of my dearest friends in blogland. I know many of you would agree.
So let’s see whatcha got!!!

You need to post a link on your sidebar with what you did last year on your staircase. I still don’t know how you managed to keep all those pumpkins in one place with three kids underfoot. But you have the midas touch with everything! Love you and Love your fall mantle! xoxoxo Sibi
