I realize many will not understand. How could you?
I am blessed to have a handful of good, true, dear, friends. Two of those dear friends I was privileged to meet around the same time. They are Southern gals. Like many around here, they are addicted to Chick-fil-A’s sweet tea. So any & all conversation some how goes back to;
“Don’t ya wish we had some sweet tea?” Or, “I was watching it unfold or hearing about it, and all I wanted to do is eat some chips & dip, & drink some sweet tea.”
To give you some brief history, these friends & I have seen some drama unfold via work experiences/life/or unexplainable events. Sometimes that drama was long winded, we had to sit there & listen to a story told while someone was “snotting & crying”, and were thinking to ourselves, “Wish I had some chips & dip to eat with this conversation.” Not to take away from the “momentary” drama we were listening to, but we knew it would pass in a matter of hours. It was & still is our joke, but very true.
Now that cooler weather is here, the conversation always includes, “Oh, I can’t wait to get home, and put on my white thick tube socks, drink some sweet tea, and have a few chips with some dip while I watch the premieres, oscars, or read Martha‘s Halloween magazine. (whatever it is at the time.) To me, there is nothing like putting on some thick white, socks when you’ve been standing all day or stressed. It is simply a divine experience.
So to all of you out there whatever the Monday blues bring, drama may unfold, long stories that include some “snotting & balling,” or your favorite show is premiering this week. Remember to grab a pair of your favorite tube socks, some chips & a little dip, & your favorite beverage…it will make it all the more better!
To my friends, Kerry & Sebi, can’t wait till we can have some time together, drink some sweet tea, eat some chips & dip, put the white socks on, & reminisce all our great stories. I miss you both.
THANK YOU!
