tangled up in new & old traditions

Today, I feel as if I have been trying to untangled the same light strand over and over again. No, I am not decorating for Christmas yet. In fact, I hate to rush it. I love Thanksgiving. I always have felt Thanksgiving is rushed by to start Christmas. But…today, a dear friend gave me a lead for Madi’s Christmas’ dress. Then, my mind started going & listing everything I need to do before the holidays. I suddenly felt overwhelmed.

The Chief & I talked about trying to “live in the moment” while we were away this weekend. It was a great conversation. One we don’t usually get to have these days. But many times we find ourselves so rushed to go here, or plan for this, that life’s best moments are passing us by while we are so busy planning for whatever else. I know it sounds so simple, “live in the moment.” But honestly, for us, in our lives right now, we need to constantly remind ourselves to “live in the moment.”

I have soooo much to untangle in this house. Like my friend & I were talking earlier today, if we could just get organized, things would be better. For the next few days, I am going to try to do this. Untangle, organize, do our usual family traditions, and plan for some new, but by all means in everything, I will try to “live in the moment.”
