christmas decor admiration

December 7, 2008 by Kellie

In the midst of decorating, or trying to decorate, I always enjoy seeing what others use, or what is new out in the retail world. But usually I find that I stick to a few basics every year. I love having a “fresh” tree every year. I much rather use “fresh” garland, I have always leaned more towards an eclectic array of ornaments. I don’t like matchey-matchey. (I know, Southern women from all over are shuttering at the thoughts of eclectic.) Home-made, you bet. I will proudly be the mom that display my children’s hand-made ornaments every year. My mom still does. I have always loved that she continues this tradition to this day.

So here’s my list so far. Some I may just get, some are on order, others will have to wait for now. Hope you enjoy.

Would love to have open shelves such as these, and of course this barn house table one day. But I love all the fresh greenery tucked away here & there. Image from country living.

Would love this to show off a 2 year old’s art work.

This just makes me happy to look at it. Perhaps it is because it is from a blog of one of my most favorite stores EVER. I love the santa’s hat for the stockings & the paperwhites. (even if they do stink.)

Who wouldn’t love lighted mistletoe garland??? I sure would. I also have a crush on this crystal berry spray. Both of these & many more lovely pieces available at cox & cox.

I’ve always loved this card display holder ever since it came out. Growing up, my parents always displayed their received Christmas cards. For me, it is part of the Christmas decor.

We are in the process of *trying* to mimic the garland around our door via inspiration from pottery barn. Does anyone have suggestions how to get it up on siding without nailing holes???

Loving this mistletoe wreath, but wanting a smaller version for the kitchen window.

Speaking of kitchen windows, I love this idea as well.

I’m sure I will have more to add this week or next. For now I am loving & reminiscing every Christmas piece I am pulling out of the boxes. Remembering when it was purchased, or when I received as a gift. I love this time of year. I look forward to the days when these three babes will get to take part of trimming the tree.

Hello! I’m so glad you’re here & reading my posts! I’ve started truncating my posts, so please click over to read the rest of the story!
THANK YOU!
