My favorite mistake.

9 years ago today, around 10:30ish pm I was eating a really fattening meal with some dear friends. You know, the kind of food you shouldn’t be eating even at normal dinner time. In the morning, knowing it will be a big mistake that you ate so much. Think: a huge pile of nachos, a brick oven pizza, and cheese sticks. (For the record my friends & I were splitting the entrees.)

I had just relocated to the city we live in now. It was a quick relocation for the company I was working for at the time. I was living in a hotel for 2 weeks, because my new apartment wasn’t ready. So eating out was the only option for 2 weeks. Anyways, there we were eating, talking, visiting with each other. Later, I get up to go to the ladies room, while on my way, a big heavy boot steps on my nicely painted toes. Right there on all of them. Ouwie Kazowie! You know the kindof step on your toes pain that makes you hold one leg up off the ground & jump a little. The guy was so apologetic. “What can I do? Oh my gosh, are you okay?” he said. HE was “THE CHIEF” aka, my husband. Looking back…the meal & pounds from the meal were worth every penny.

My friend, Susan Lucci (she’s been mentioned a few times, but most recently here) her husband & this guy (soon to be known as “The Chief”) turns out that they worked together. So I was able to immediately do the single girl background/CSI check on this guy…small world…more on our little story & my favorite mistake later.
