BUSY with simple things. - Nest of Posies

Chief, my husband has been mowing & bailing hay all week along with working his regular job. So it has been me & the kids basically all week & then some. Yes, I’ve had time to turn on the computer, but to form a sentence or paragraph, well, that’s a different story. Just keeping things honest here, I’ve always hated this time, when the hay needs to be cut. It is just hard doing it all for about 2 weeks straight. But, the good news is…we’ve actually had a good time doing the simple things & doing a few firsts.

We’ve kept ourselves busy…

*Driving through the two tunnels in town. With all the windows down, while we blow the horn, and in the rear view mirror I can see Graham grinning from ear to ear. Saying, “Let’s do it again, Mommy!”

*We’ve been doing some crafting. (My fave & photos to come next week.)
*A messy house never looked so good, with glitter sprinkled here & there.
*We’ve made our first batch of homemade soup & bread for the season. So good.

*I have reconnect with 4 friends & 1 teacher from high school this week alone on Facebook. Haven’t talk to them in over 22 years. Wow. So fun to see pics & share stories. (If you haven’t signed up for a Facebook account, what are you waiting for??? It is so fun. Do it!)

*We finally got to watch Mason get rid of his fear of Graham’s monkey. (He is the most tender hearted out of the three) He actually cuddled with the monkey & took a little nap this morning with him. My sweet sweet boy.

*We are learning to write our ABC’s. Yipee.

*I found our stash of sparklers we never used on the 4th. It was like finding buried treasure for Graham & I. It was one of those nights we couldn’t stay inside one.more.minute. If ya know what I mean???

*And, finally…here’s a sneak peak as to what Graham & I been up to. We have had the best time keeping our fingers in glue & glitter. (Not the best picture, but I think you get the idea…) More to come next week!
