Fall Sun, Shadows, & Play - Nest of Posies

Fall. It is slipping through our hands too fast. The wind is coming in & our beautiful leaves have covered our ground. You can’t see the green grass anymore. It is just a golden carpet of leaves outside. These pictures were taken last week. What a difference a week can make. I love the contrasting color of the green grass with the leaves. That time frame just goes by too quickly when the leaves are so powerful in their color, and the grass is the greenest in the Fall shadows. It is just like the kids. Growing so fast. You just want it to stay as long as possible & those sweet faces not to change and grow older with the months.

I guess it only fitting, speaking of faces that I start with this one. If Chief were writing this post, he would now insert the sentence…”She is just like her Mama, always running her mouth.” I love it though. I love her expressions. Isn’t she hilarious?

I love her sweet silhouette. Her cheeks are like pillows. When you go to kiss her cheeks, your lips just sink in like landing on the softest marshmallows.

My sweet baby boy’s silhouette in the Fall sun. He is the sweetest. Loves to dance, sing, & “bless our food” at the table. Even though we can’t make out what he is saying. He closes his eyes, holds my hand, and says “Dear Jesssssssssss. _ _ _ _. AMMMMENNN!” It melts my heart everyday.

Little did I know that straw bales would be so entertaining. He loves them. He makes a “bee line” for them every morning. He is at such an innocent age of discovery. I need to remind myself to allow time for this. Life, responsibilities, appointments get in the way of this too often. He is at his best when he is free & allowed to discover. Why is it always just a challenge to do the simplest things??? I just know, I need to get better at it. Because he deserves it all.
