Mommy’s Day Out – “ATL” style

November 9, 2009 by Kellie

Yes, can you believe it!!! A couple of weeks ago I had a MDO (Mommy’s Day Out) in ATL! It was heavenly. I meant to mention it earlier or should I say brag earlier, but a week of computer trouble more like drama, and the weather being perfect around here lately…I just failed to upload the pics. So here we go…my friend who I have known for years & years had been telling me that when I could get away a day at a spa & lunch was in the works. *It was kindof a belated Mommy of twins gift*. Although, it was my delay in attempting to go sooner. Chief had the kids, so off we went to ATL! It was everything I thought it would be & more. So fun to visit with friends, and have un-interrupted conversation. I cried with laughter the entire trip down to ATL. So fun. So after the spa he took me to Star Provisions & Bacchanalia. It was an unbelievable store full of beautiful dishes, transferware, decor, gourmet food to-go, seasonal decor, & delicious food for dine-in as well. Visit the link…my photos do not do justice. All were taken with my cell phone.

I go a little weak in the knees for seasonal things. Not to mention a long farm style table with pumpkins on it, well…right from the “get go” I knew I was going to love this place!

The table & decor for Halloween. A-mazing!

Then a separate room dedicated to Thanksgiving, turkey, & burlap. My mouth was open in awe. What they did for decor was unbelievable. I wish I took better pics. Here is just one example below.

Sewn with burlap & stamped with ink hanging on opposite sides of the room were these bags. I fell in love with them. So so simple, but had such an impact.

They even make their own flavored sugars & salts. This was a separate room for their gourmet meats, spices, & seasoning.

A table full of white & cream dishes. It was just beautiful.

Their sweets to-go room. The photo is just horrible, but I will say I am actively trying to recreate my S’mores Cupcake I had there. So fresh, crunchy graham cracker crumbs in the bottom, chocolate cake in the middle, and a roasted marshmallow topping. Delish.

Okay so I am posting this pic for a couple of my friends…this is me, waiting for my appt…without kids reading a mag. A landmark moment! *I kindof had to call/text them & brag to tell them where I was.* Yes, it’s that same sweater again. Sorry. It’s a staple this Fall, what can I say???

Then this is me, after *the works* at home.

Notice the hair??? A little color switchero & yes, if I could only have someone straighten my hair, have as soft skin as I did that day, have a relaxed body from a massage as I did, it would be heavenly. But it was a rare treat to get away & have some friend time. How fortunate am I to have a friend, that would do this for me. Lucky me. I am blessed.
