our blooming mantel

March 31, 2010 by Kellie

It is really hard to contain myself this time of year.  You see, I’ll pull over on any given street & just stare or take a picture of a tree in bloom.  This blooming season is just a short treasured moment in a long year. So I thought I would do a blooming mantel.
Just blooms, branches, 2 vases & water. That’s all.
Because nothing else is needed.  I love how these soft pastel petals look up against the dark wood.  So soft & feminine.

~~~~edited to add: the branches in the 2 vases are from our Cherry Tree & the branches across the mantel are from a Tulip Poplar Tree.~~~
***as my regular readers can see – I haven’t painted or added to my mantel yet. (?) it’s things like the last picture that make me re-think the whole painting idea. the good news is that the leak is fixed!***
