highlights of 2010

December 28, 2010 by Kellie

::{Click the picture to take you to that particular post}::

We started 2010 off with a bang!
This may have been the most spontaneous thing I did all year. I decided to throw a party for the kids the day before New Year’s Eve. It was so fun.

My very first transfer paper project ~ making these pillows for our master bedroom. Little did I know at the beginning of the year just how much I would use that magical paper throughout the entire year.

When the idea came to mind to show off what a dear friend did to these Estate Sale drapes, I had no idea this post would be so popular. It was with pleasure to show off her talent. It still boggles my mind that after all her work for weeks, she then turn around & gave them to me.
For some strange reason back in the Spring, I decided to share some crap with you all – literally. If you haven’t seen this above post in regards to the flowers…let’s just say for about a month I was known in blogland as the “cow poo girl.”

Our hallway needed something fun. A little chalkboard paint via Wal-mart did the trick. Hands down, best decorating decision I made all year for this house & for the kids.

A major overhaul was done to our smallest room (excluding the bathrooms) of our house ~ my craft room. I.still.love.it.to.this.day!

Even though it’s the smallest room, I thought it deserved 2 pictures. So much was done to this little room with an A-frame popcorn ceiling & all…and because it’s my second most viewed post of the year. wowza~!

The twins’ birthday party had to be the hottest day of the year! That alone deserves a mention. They turned 2!

Early Fall, the Fall Festival link party took place for the month of September. Such an awesome month full of inspiration from everyone who linked up! This silhouette frame above is the first project that I did for the Fall Festival.

I decided that the other side of my hallway needed attention. Plus the light fixture. 😉 All of this was done in a series of posts. Here, here & here. Needless to say, I spent alot of time in our hallway in 2010. ha!

More pillows & we framed one of many flour sack quilts from my husband’s side of the family.

For some reason, my Adding More Layers post is the #1 post for the year. I believe it is from the link parties I linked it too. But it is way above all the other posts of the year. Funny thing, I just took pictures of how I decorated. Nothing of the “how-to’s”…maybe I should post like this from now on?

Come meet Buck if you haven’t already. Love him.

Last but certainly not least…my etsy shop. What was started on a whim a few months ago has turned out to be a pleasant surprise, thanks to many of you for your support! I’m anxious to share some new designs very soon!

As far as my goals for 2011 in regards to the house:

Graham’s room

2 bathrooms

kitchen

How about you? Do you have some favorite projects that you’ve done for the year? If so, share them & link them up with Rhoda’s party starting Wednesday!

Hello! I’m so glad you’re here & reading my posts! I’ve started truncating my posts, so please click over to read the rest of the story!
THANK YOU!

Love that chalkboard wall! Isn’t blogging the best 😉 Enjoyed your recap and found you via Southern Hospitatlities link party. I’ve been blogging for three years and this is the first re-cap post that I’ve completed and it really makes you appreciate all that you accomplish in a year. Best wishes for the New Year.
