For the first week of Spring Fling,
I thought I would do a re-do of our decor.
Our entry wall:

You see, we have a small old house.  There are no fancy mudrooms or even a laundry room on the main floor.  In fact, we have very little wall space in this house.  As you can see my wall (before) was rather boring.  A box to pile place the kids shoes in & a very tired photo wreath, that’s been up on the mirror more than I care to admit.  My regular readers will remember, 2 weeks ago, I happen to find the bench at Goodwill.  When I saw it, I knew it was thin enough & that it would be my answer to help make this wall functional with some storage & a place for the kids to sit while they put their shoes on. 

So it got a revamp:

As you saw in the above collage, I used vinyl to create the stripes & Hobby Lobby had their drawer knobs on sale last week for 50% off.  I couldn’t believe the timing, it rarely happens like that for me.

Remember when I said our house has little wall space, well. it does.  So, I also wanted to make this wall as fun as possible, with a little Spring added in without going overboard.

So here’s what I did with the rest of it:

The pinks & yellows accented with the black silhouette frames & the chalkboard tin tray are exactly what this wall needed.  Some fun & whimsy along with touches of Spring.
 A much better improvement wouldn’t you say?
