last minute ideas for the 4th & how to shoot fireworks – links

July 3, 2011 by Kellie

Hello lovelies!

Has anyone fired up some fireworks or sparklers yet?  We are going to start tomorrow…I can’t wait!  Hope you all are enjoying your holiday weekend so far. I just wanted to stop in for a couple of minutes & share some of my very favorite posts for the 4th that I’ve seen around.

I was instantly drawn & captured by A Field Journal’s incredible post of homemade paper goods & fabric creations for the 4th, I just had to share & send you over for a visit.  The simplicity, her classic style and her all American spirit that is displayed in this post is so refreshing.
My friend, Cheryl aka Tidy Mom made these blue raspberry covered apples for the 4th.  Aren’t they wonderful?  Go see how she made them!  Cheryl is the best when it comes to all American food, btw.  Her recipes are perfect for any family.  She makes everyday food look & taste heavenly.  She is amazing.
Need some last minute ideas on what to make & serve for the 4th???  Well, Mrs. Fabulous herself – Jen from Tatertots & Jello has 25 gorgeous recipes all lined up, ready for you to pick your favorite.  It’s a red, white & blue post AND will make your mouth water!

Need to brush up on how to shoot fireworks???  They are so stinkin’ hard to shoot!  Below is my *somewhat* only good photo that turned out last year.

I googled “how to shoot fireworks” just before I walked out the door last year & I was so overwhelmed by all the suggestions.  I told myself this year, I would study up a couple of days before the big firecrackers went off, so Darcy’s post is just what we all need to read.  It is full of helpful suggestions.  Just wait till you see her firework photo!!!  It blows mine to shame.
We are headed to visit my parents for a few days.  My Mom knows how to do the 4th up right…I’m anxious to see what she has up her sleeve for Monday.  😉
How wonderful that we are the land of the free & the home of the brave!
Wishing you all a lovely holiday.
xo
