my fashion forward fall felt flower wreath aka:FFFFFW

September 5, 2011 by Kellie

It kinda became a no-brainer to make a felt flower wreath.  If you’ve been following this blog during the past month, you may remember my post of spying “Stripes for Fall.”  Well, as most of you know, I’ve totally fallen for the stripe trend in my shop & in my wardrobe.  So it was only natural to incorporate some stripe action into my home decor.  Please tell you do that as well, right?
It was quite simple.  I cut some stripe fabric in strips & wrapped it around a wreath form with some hot glue.
I then, took some of my favorite color combinations of my felt flowers~
And pinned them on my wreath form.  Can you hear me sing “LOOOOVVVE” in a high pitch tone?  I am.
I had it for a few days on an interior door, but finally I had an Oprah moment & moved it into my craft/sewing room & placed it on my bulletin board where I sew.
I decided to clear off all my clippings from the bulletin board & just have a simple bold statement.  This room gets junked up enough with projects & orders, trust me!
So now, this is my view & I’m quite smitten with it.  It’s a happy spot that makes happy things.

I love the stripes and the flowers are fantastic. What a pretty view while you work. I’ve been wanting to figure out a way to do a wreath for my front door that doesn’t bring back bad 90s flashbacks. You’re inspiring me that it can be done. 🙂

    Kellie,

Your projects are so awesome and inspiring! Thanks for being one of my craft gurus!

Those loopy flowers look hard! I know my limits, so I won’t be making any of them anytime soon, but I am inspired to work on a fall wreath. Definitely have to switch out the beach theme for fall by the end of the month. Luckily in NC we can drag it out a little later than some.

Thanks for sharing your latest creation!
