My Healthy Skincare Routine

It’s funny how you get into a “rut” and begin the cycle of gaining weight, not really taking care of skin, and always in a rush. That above sentence defines me perfectly for the past year.   Other than the year the twins were born, this year has been the most wild, rushed & crazy year of my life! I have gained weight, been in a race everyday, and signs of not taking care of my skin are very evident. It’s a rat race out there.  Thankfully, I saw the “light” that I needed to slow down, get healthy and start taking care of the things God gave me.  Like my skin, my hair and my body.  I started a lifestyle change as I have mentioned before, and recommitted to a skin care routine.  So I thought I would share My Healthy Skincare Routine with all of you, and show you just how simple it is! For the record, I get up like all of you with major #bedhead going on. I have flaws and I’m full of imperfections.  Especially when it comes to my skin. I had oily skin for most of my life, and thankfully oily skin wrinkles less.  But I have acne scares and large pores to show for that oily skin, which I completely hate.  I’m 45 years old with big Southern naturally curly hair, that you cannot tame for your life. My skincare routine as a 45 year old busy mom.  What I do first thing in the morning that helps my skin.-001 The very first thing(s) I do in the morning, other than going potty is brush my teeth. I weigh myself. And then immediately head to the kitchen to start drinking water. My goal of water intake?  A gallon a day.  Yes, a gallon!  Obviously this photo is taken later in the day, but you get the idea.  Yes, I’m running to the restroom many times throughout the day, but I swear by it. Drinking water will help with staying hydrated, your skin will look fresher and will also help you lose weight After I’ve had breakfast, taken care of the kids, I start my routine of getting ready for the day.  I will admit that I do not always put makeup on, especially in the Summer.  But I do put on AVEENO® ULTRA-CALMING® DAILY MOISTURIZER BROAD SPECTRUM SPF 15  .  One of the many things I love about it, is that it has an SPF!  So it will protect your skin. My other favorite part?  Is that it’s ULTRA-CALMING®.  My skin can get red, irritated and splotchy.  The AVEENO® ULTRA-CALMING® DAILY MOISTURIZER BROAD SPECTRUM SPF 15  truly does calm my skin down, and I can literally feel my skin soaking in the moisturizer. Applying Aveeno Daily Moisturizer with a SPF 15 will help your skin and protect it The other thing I have been very careful about doing is applying sunscreen to the rest of my body.  Especially if I’m wearing shorts or a skort.  When AVEENO® asked me to give this moisturizer a try, I had just started on my lifestyle change a few weeks back.  I’m eating more veggies than I ever have, drinking water, sleeping better and now of course moisturizing. Ultra-Calming Daily Moisturizer This moisturizer is perfect on the days I need to run errands and don’t want to put make up on.  Or on the days we head to the pool.  Application is easy & it just takes a couple of pumps.  I love how it helps calm down my imperfections as well.  No red splotchy skin when I’m headed to the grocery store.
