On the Front Porch

August 6, 2015 by Kellie

Hello all!  I was asked by Porch to answera few questions about myself and the blog.  I’ve had the privilege of partnering with Porch in the Spring, and I truly loved the entire campaign.  I’m sharing half of the questions over on their blog.  It’s a series called, “On the Front Porch” and sharing the other half of the interview here.  Fun, right?

It’s a list of 16 questions, pertaining to all things creative and DIY!  I’m sharing some of my favorite projects over on their blog so be sure to head over there to read the rest of the interview.

Below are some of the questions they asked and my answers.  Hope you enjoy!!!

If your life were a song, what would it be?  Because I’m Happy by Pharrell.  I feel I’m a pretty happy person, and I love that song its so contagious.
Pinterest or Facebook?  Wow, surprisingly this one is kinda hard to answer.  But I’ll say Pinterest, because I’m a visual gal.  That’s how I learn and get inspired.
If your walls could only be painted one color for the rest of your life, what would they be and why?  WHITE!  White goes with everything.  Bright and bold or warm neutrals, it will all work with white.

What are you exceptionally good at? (Permission to brag)  Networking!  I can easily get blogging friends, or brands on board with an idea.  That is when I allow myself time to sit down in front of the computer.
What’s the weirdest thing you’ve collected?  Before kids, and before the blog I used to sell department store cosmetics.  I probably at one time had 500+ tubes of lipstick!  For real!
Show us your best project for a DIY beginner!  If we’re talking a home DIY project, probably painting would be the easiest.  But tiling was pretty easy too!  Especially since it was all the same size.  Here’s a picture of our kitchen backsplash we finished earlier in the year.

What’s a home trend you hope doesn’t exist in 100 years?  Vinyl quotes on walls.  Is that bad to say?  I love a good quote, but I would rather see it painted & framed.

Favorite words to live by?  Ah!  I’ll quote one of my favorite lines of Scarlett O’Hara for this answer,
“I can’t think about that right now…I’ll think about that tomorrow.”
P.S.  I’ve always wanted Scarlett O’Hara’s eyebrows = perfection!
