After School Snack Idea

October 1, 2015 by Kellie

It’s almost like a “deer in the headlights look” for us moms when it comes to back to school.  My kids started back a few weeks ago, and even though I love a good routine getting readjusted is not the easiest.

I mean the paperwork alone coming from school is enough to drive you a little crazy!

Right when my kids walk in from school I hear two words.

“I’m hungry.”

If I let them, they’ll raid everything in sight.  But when Toaster Strudel™ reached out to me for this post, it was like a light bulb went off in my head.  WHY not???  It’s the most perfect after school snack idea I’ve heard in a long time.

After School Snack Ideas. To cure the starving tummies and help focus on homework and after school practices.

Obviously, the beauty of these Toaster Strudels™ is that you can serve them anytime.  They’re not just for breakfast.  We also happen to be enjoying a little cooler weather right now.  Heating up something warm is always comforting to me, and I know my kiddos love them and the smell while they’re heating makes the entire house smell so good.

After School Snack Idea. Protein, fruit and a little sweetness goes a long ways.

I honestly don’t think anything could be easier.

We promised our kids that they each could have one after-school activity this semester.  So we are running, doing homework, and finding a new balance after-school.  On days my boys have practice, feeding them a Toaster Strudel™ with a glass of milk and fruit makes me know they’re getting a “light” meal while heading out to practice.

How we attack the after school madness.

Toaster Strudels™ are also easy enough to eat while doing homework.  Less stress for moms, and more time to hear about their day = my favorite!

You see, we have this snacking thing down to a fine science.  😉

They all sit at the bar, get their papers and homework out, grab some fruit and milk, and bite into a warm pastry filled with strawberries with a warm icing drizzled on top.

What could be better than biting into that while doing homework, I ask?

It’s the perfect motivation to get it all done!
