Dollar Store Valentine’s Wreath made for $3 dollars

January 16, 2017 by Kellie

Hello, my friends.  I’m excited to share my first “official” craft of the year, it’s my Dollar Store Valentine’s Wreath made for $3 dollars!

It’s been awhile, since I’ve last posted.  Not that I haven’t thought about you all, but life has been busy as I’m sure it has been for all of you.  Anyways. the New Year celebrations have come and gone, and it’s time to get back to our normal routine around here.  I have a lot of personal goals this year (I don’t want to call the resolutions) that I would love to do on this blog, for myself & for our family.

One of them being, buying less, but choosing well.  I’ll get to more of that in coming blog posts, but that is a huge personal goal I have for myself this year.  Not that I am not planning on buying things.  Trust me, I am.  LOL – but I want to be smarter.  Choose well.  Get what we really need instead of buying all the junk that ends up in the donate pile or in the yard sale pile.

Another words, I need to STOP spending a ton of money on seasonal things that will only last a few weeks vs. investing more money in landscaping (for example) or things that will improve our home, or more buying more quality products that we really will use is what I need to focus more on.

I do want to limit my spending, but the things we do NEED – I want to choose well.

Does that make sense?

All of that to say, is that’s how this Dollar Store Valentine’s Wreath made for $3 dollars started.

And y’all it couldn’t be easier!  ANYONE can do this.

At the Dollar Tree, you’ll find these beautiful high quality felt laser cut hearts.  They’re even trimmed out in glitter.  I bought 2 of them just so my “wreath” could be extra sturdy while hanging on my door, and I hot glued them together.  I also bought the tinsel heart garland at the Dollar Tree and hot glued it around the heart for the finishing touch.  Used some scrap pink ribbon to tie a big bow & presto, I am done.

Easy.  Cheap.  PINK!!!!.  And so fun for a Valentine’s Day {outdoor} wreath!  It’s has already held up well with rain, fog, and quite a bit of dampness in our weather.  Just as long as you have a covered porch, I think this wreath will work perfectly outdoors.

We also have a new family member!!!

More on her in a coming post, as well.  But I can’t resist sharing some of her first photos that I took of her.  Isn’t she the cutest?  Her name is “Brie” and we are so in love with her.  Brie has her own Instagram account, if you’d like to follow along.  You’ll find her at @Briethedoodle or you can also follow this blog on Instagram as well at @nestofposies
