Favorite Things Christmas Mantel and Printable

December 10, 2014 by Kellie

You know the song…

I can remember my mom singing it to us during Christmas Time.

“Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes.

Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes.

Silver white winters that melt into spring

These are a few of my favorite things.”

All the while she would sing this song to us, I would be dreaming of eating Crisp Apple Strudel.    That’s probably my very favorite part of the entire song.  You know I always associate memories with food and clothes.  😉

But while I was unpacking some of our Christmas decorations, and even though I had already decorated our mantel with another printable already, I wanted to do one dedicated to one of my favorite songs, and some of my favorite Christmas decorations.  So I thought I would do a Favorite Things Christmas Mantel and Printable for all of you to enjoy and download as well.

Would you believe that brass thing on the right hand side is a broken exterior light fixture?  I just filled it with some lights.  One of the many things I love about this mantel is that there is an electrical outlet right in the very center of the mantel!!!!  So you can plug things in with out the cord showing!

I used some of the mod podge canvases I made a few years ago.  It all seemed to match or in some cases mismatched perfectly for the color story on this mantel.   Here’s the guest post I did on Tidy Mom’s blog for the canvases.  They really are pretty easy to make, and they are now 3 years old.  So they hold up well!

Sometimes you just can’t fight when creativity hits.  And I guess I needed an hour to sing that song & pretend I was little again.  Life can get crazy as adults, and I love to escape to a time when I didn’t have a care in the world.

These are a few of my Favorite Things Printable in 2 colors and sizes

Our house is in boxes, and all sorts of things need repairing but I’ve learned to take breaks once in awhile and just create.

Design By Spec. Custom Invitations, Prints & Resumes

Once again I teamed up with the incredible Stephanie Lynn to create these amazing printables.  I simply tell her my ideas, color story sometimes a specific font request, sometimes not – and she runs with it!  She is so gifted in being able to know what I have in my head.  And let me tell you, that is true talent!!!  She can make you invitations, printables, resumes a sign for your Christmas Party or a wedding – you name it!  She is your girl!

She made 2 versions of these printables in 2 different sizes and 2 different colors.

Mint with gold lettering & in a classic black & white.  In a 11×14 or an 8×10 size.  I used the 11×14 size for my mantel and it cost me $3.80 to have it printed at our local FedEx store.  Some of my readers have shared that they have also had their printables made at Sam’s or Costco.

These printables are for personal use only.***
