Balancing Work and Play

June 12, 2015 by Kellie

Finding balance is a hard thing during Summer.

I am constantly the referee, sun screen applier, and beverage & snack cart Mom.

Sometimes, I scream out “Calgon take me away!” ~ I realize I’m showing my age stating that commercial 😉

I know I am very fortunate to be able to stay at home with my kids during the Summer, but it’s also hard balancing work and play when you work from home and you have commitments.  It’s all about juggling, having a plan, and having toys & technology that work in your favor.  Oh yeah, let’s also add trying to sell a house by owner into the mix as well.

Have you ever tried to show a house with 3 kids in tow?

I don’t recommend it – at all!

Thankfully, the folks at Intel must have known that we desperately needed some help when it comes to technology in our household!

What is it you ask?

Well, it’s a 19.5 inch tablet AND a tabletop computer all in one = basically a life saver!  – To put it in “Mom” terms.

Balancing work & play while surviving Summer
It’s quick, y’all – another “Mom” term.

It’s the Lenovo HORIZON 2S.   With a spacious 19.5″ display, HORIZON 2s is still amazingly slim and light.  It only weighs 5.5lbs! You can get all the new innovation and fun of a tabletop PC, in a more portable package.

And even better, I can use it while making a recipe!!!  My eyes ain’t what they used to be, so I can enlarge the photos and recipes with my fingers across the screen and not miss any details!

The HORIZON 2S has a wireless keyboard and mouse.  You can either stand it up and use it like a regular PC or lay it flat and enjoy an unprecedented multi-user experience, using it as a new category of device — a tabletop PC.

The wireless keyboard and being able to stand it up or lay it flat are probably my favorite parts.

I love having that flexibility.

Tips for working stay at home moms
It’s so easy to use, and being able to flip it for faster scrolling through social media and of course my blog…ahem 😉

I also love not being confined by a power cord!  You can unplug the HORIZON 2S and move it around your home without having to plug back in for up to three hours. Enjoying indoor mobility as you watch a movie in the living room, read a recipe in the kitchen, and play a game in the den.  Which is how Summer should be!  Nonrestrictive and fun!

During the Summer my computer time is quite limited and sporadic, like I’m sure all of you.  Having something I can quickly access to check my emails and social media has saved me a ton of time.  I can access anything in any room of my house with the HORIZON 2S, check Facebook, drool through Pinterest, and yes – even sell our home and send & sign legal documents all while using the HORIZON 2S!

On my next post, I can’t wait to share how my 3 kiddos use it with the multi user experience!  It’s a dream.
Can you imagine a tablet that allows your kids to use it at the same time?

It has cut down the arguing by 24.9% in my home.  And that my friends is saying something!  😉
