Adding art and texture to your home + a GIVEAWAY!

It’s hard to believe I’m at this place…

You know the place where layers and textures start entering your house to make it a home.

While we’ve been renovating, remodeling and cleaning, our house felt good, but not like home.

You know you’re favorite comfy outfit?

Perhaps it’s a pair of yoga pants?

Or maybe you feel better in jeans?

But you pair it with your favorite cotton shirt, cardigan sweater, boots or flip flops.

And the entire outfit becomes pure comfort to you.

Our house didn’t have that comfort feeling.  It has been taking shape, getting readjusted, polished, stained, and shined.  But not comfortable, yet.  Well, I can say the comfort level is finally starting to move.  Texture has walked in the door, and it is a welcomed sight to behold!

How to add art and texture to your home.
Just like any good outfit, you got to know what works best for you.  Shop, hunt and seek out what you truly love.  Thanks to the many artists that Minted carries, you can do just that for your own home.  Shop, hunt, seek out what you truly love in one place!  They have many  talented artists that fill their online space with pure beauty.  From modern, to classic, nature and typography ~ Minted carries a vast selection of art and beautiful frames that will blend perfectly in your own home.  Adding texture and art to your home is amazingly easy with the online tools Minted offers their users.

Learning to decorate a new home. Adding texture, wood, nature and pops of color.
For me personally, I love when there’s texture in décor.  Wood and baskets paired together is one of my many love languages.

Well, to be honest I have many love languages…

Pineapples.  To eat and for décor happens to be one of my love languages.  I knew when I saw this pineapple print, it had to go in this room.

The color orange for a pop of color is also a favorite of mine.  I love to wear orange (GO VOLS!) or to accessorize with it.  This tangerine print and of course the watercolor piece tied them all together perfectly.   Just like a good outfit…

Filling your home with nature and art and making it all work
This wall is in our family and kitchen open floor plan room.  I knew I wanted texture, but I also wanted pops of color, and art with fruit to make it blend with our kitchen.  Adding baskets for throw pillows and miscellaneous toys helped me add the texture for that “comfort” feeling we all love, but also eased this Mom’s pain of cleaning up!  I’ve never met a basket I didn’t like.  Because I always see S T O R A G E when I look into those beautiful weaved layers.  😉

Decorating with Nature and adding textured elements
As I mentioned above, one of the many things I love about Minted is their framing.  They have the perfect selection.  I fell in love with their wood frames immediately, but you can pick what type of finish you want to coordinate with your art.

Using adding texture, nature and color to your home.
I plan to be sharing more posts about this room very soon. But it has all come together, and this wall in my opinion put the finishing touches on everything!

Adding texture and art to your home.
If you have never heard of Minted, I highly encourage you to head over there!  They also have the most beautiful stationary products that they custom design.  Heavy card stock, gold lettering ~ all the kind of things that makes me weak in the knees!  We have used them for the past 2 years for our Christmas cards.  We love their work!

Now about that giveaway….

Minted has offered for one lucky reader to win an 11×14 piece of artwork – framed! So awesome!   Just use the widget box below to enter.  This giveaway is for one week!
