Fall wardrobe trend: I spy stripes

August 14, 2011 by Kellie

I’m keeping my fingers crossed that cooler weather is on it’s way soon.  Not too cold, but enough to bring some layers out for this Fall loving girl.  I get a little weak in the knees when I start to see all the Fall catalogs land in my mailbox.  Whether it be home decor, outdoor spaces or fashion – the textures, layers & patterns of Fall have me at hello.  I’ve noticed a new look of layered stripes for Fall, and I gotta say, I’m loving it!  But as always I’m trying to find a little cheaper alternatives to add to my wardrobe.  So I started pinning on pinterest, of course & thought I would share what I have so far.

JCrew:

affordable Old Navy:
Lovely Garnett Hill.  I’ll even take THAT car:

One of my faves BodenUSA:

p.s.  Old Navy has some fun pea coats in for Fall as well.

And cast your eyes on this combo, I saw on pinterest…leopard & stripes.  Love it.  Go ahead & break the mold.  It’s okay.

This was pinned without a referring site on pinterest.  I tried to search it down, but nothing was pinned to begin with in the original post, but I think it’s a darling combination.  Don’t you?

I couldn’t find a cheap version of the stripe vest above, but I did remember that Target has these cardigans that are so cuuute & would look adorable layered as well.

More JCrew with fantastic mustard yellow pants.
More awesomesauce from Garnet Hill.
These next 2 images are from a new blog I’ve discovered.  There’s so many stripe outfits in her posts, I adore them all.  But check out the stripe on stripe action!  Love it.

Here’s the ever so adorable & always dressed fashionably, Lindsey from The Pleated Poppy, who in this post is challenging everyone to be bold with patterns & mix them up!
p.s. i *believe* that’s a Target sweater that I referred to above.

If you’re in the mood to make something this Fall…here’s a tutorial for a fun skirt for your wardrobe.

And…just for fun, I made a blogger’s Fall outfit on Polyvore, complete with M&Ms for snacking.

So who’s digging the stripes?

All I know is when Tarjay gets their long sleeve tees in, you better believe I’ll be hunting down some stripes or headed to Old Navy!!!

I love your “11 years” post below, so sweet!

I love stripes, and love the ensembles you’ve pinned and shared! You have a couple pics from “a new blog you found and she wears a lot of stripes” … which blog? I love the 2 pictures you shared, I want to see more!

I love it ALL. I promised myself I wouldn’t buy anymore clothes until I lost weight … so, I need to get moving on that plan! 😉
