Christmas in July Birthday Party

July 22, 2011 by Kellie

Christmas in July Birthday party for the twins! via Nest of Posies - very easy & affordable using Christmas decor you already own, and serve your favorite Christmas treats!
Why not combine the two best days of the year into one fun party?
That’s exactly what we did!
We turned the A/C down, stayed inside & decked the halls for a Christmas in July Birthday Party.
Once I thought of the idea, I knew immediately I would pull out some of my favorite Christmas decor that I made last year & make the twins their favorite Christmas treats.  I spent zero money on decor.
The scrapbook paper loop trees are from my Christmas mantel last year.  I was so glad to bring those back out for the party.  They make me happy.
I got the idea for these snowmen & milk bottles from Pinterest via Bakerella.  I wouldn’t even compare my little guys to her adorable creations, but I still got tickled just making their faces.  Such a clever idea.  I used icing writing pens & these bottles to hold the milk.  Pure cuteness.
The snowflakes are from the dollar store last year.  I bought 2 packs & never used them.  Thank goodness I tend to hoard things. 😉  The poinsettia wreath was also a creation from last Christmas.  I love how it looks against my aqua walls as a fun contrast.
Here’s the birthday boy & girl.  Still can’t believe they turned 3.  I think this photo pretty much sums it all up.
Big brother, who totally “got” the theme of the party.  I think he was just as thrilled to be having a Christmas in July party, as I was.
This is how they looked when everybody starting singing Happy Birthday to them.  One of my favorites from the party.

This was by far the easiest party to put together.  The 2 themes, the pops of  color, the festive decor & decorating with things we already had made this a true party wonderland.  I still can’t believe we did this.  We never do anything to celebrate Christmas in July.  All I know, is that it was so much fun to put together & a great way to celebrate & remember the twins entering their third year.

Amazing how time goes by.

    What an awesome party!
I don’t think I would ever do this theme though, living in ND, we only get about 4 months of nice weather. Don’t need to be reminded of snow 🙂
