FALL FESTIVAL week 5!!!

Well, it’s the last week of The Fall Festival & I  thought we should end it with a bang! 
 How about a CSN.com gift card worth $75.00 to one lucky winner?

SO…..let’s get this festival started shall we?
I’ll be honest, my project this week is the master mind of 2 friends.
My friend Kerry, gave me this idea – and I ran with it.
Or should I say, I ran to the phone to call my friend Susan Lucci who is the vinyl diva & we came up with a plan…
If you’ve been a reader of this blog for awhile, then you know I love to incorporate the kids when it comes to decorating our home.
For example:

I have no problem with fun & whimsy front & center in our home.
But when my friend suggested to add elements to the chalkboard wall for Halloween….I knew she was on to something!
My kids hang out in this hallway.  My 4 y.o. wakes up talking about Halloween.  So it was obvious that I should do “something” for him.  You know, to hear him talk even more about Halloween.

Not that any imagination is needed for my 4 year old, but I knew he would get into this.  My friend Susan Lucci (I’ve called her that now for 15 years) used her Silhouette Machine. (the machine that is on my Christmas wish list) and stretched out the graphic & tweaked them just a little
 and….

added a few *starring roles* to the vignette.

Along with one spooky tree & some beautiful Fall rusted leaves falling.  I added the bunting from Tweedle Dee Designs, cut & applied the vinyl & drew a few things.  That was it.  Sometimes, I don’t know what I would do without my friend Susan Lucci.  She helps me so often at a moments’ notice. I will however, blame her for needing eye glasses now, it has nothing to do with my age.  Applying vinyl at 1AM is not a good idea.  (yep, I was that close to not having a project this week.)
But I absolutely love it!!!
I *heart* a project like this, once in a while.
I also think my kids do too. 😉
If you’re wondering what is up with the weird lighting in these pictures…well, I’ll give you a quick peek at another project I’m working on ~
We had a new light fixture installed in my beloved hallway.  $1.50 thrift store lamp shade to be revealed hopefully soon!

  52. I love the wall in the hall! A what machine? I want one, you should post about that and how it works…. Do you find the chalk is all over the place? I’m thinking of doing a wall in my dining room, and yes, I have kids!

  95. You are awesome! I love looking through your blog and seeing all the wonderful things you come up with. I have a question though, how do you get the vinyl to lay so perfectly? I have a Silhouette and use it for my vinyl but my transfer paper seems to stink too much and I end up ruining everything most of the time. Any tips?
