20 Fun Firework Picture Ideas! Plus links on how to shoot fireworks, make sparkler words, video ideas & so much more! via Nest of Posies

Oh, how I love fireworks!  They can put a smile on my face in an instant & make the Summer nights not feel so hot.  The smell of their smoke & the sparks flying through the air, makes the Summer nights even more magical!

At the very first sound of the “BOOM!”  I can go back to my childhood in a second & remember packing up our old lattice woven patio chairs to head out to see the fireworks.  I would always get so excited!

Fast forward to being an adult, I believe capturing Fireworks & the marvel of them on camera is one of my biggest picture goals I always give myself during the Summer months.  I want to capture it all in one single shot.  The kids, our family, all while looking up at the sky.  I guess you can say I have a “summer romance” with fireworks!

So I thought I would do a collect of fun photo ideas around – what else???  Fireworks!  Because capturing them & family is what it’s all about!

The picture above is me, 2 weeks ago.  Yes, I was doing double duty!  Taking a video AND taking a picture with my DSLR camera.  I thought it turned out to be a pretty good picture of my quest to get the ultimate shot!

There are a few things you need to know before you start shooting fireworks.  First & foremost, get a tripod!  You can find one pretty cheap on Amazon  or you can get them at Target or Best Buy!  The other thing is turn off your flash!  Here are some really good posts for more detailed advice on taking firework pictures:

Darcy has a great post about how to shoot fireworks.  Her post is easy to understand, even for a dummy like me.  Amy has a fabulous post on how to capture fireworks!  She gives you tips on setting your camera, ISO & all the other important stuff.
