If your human & you love food, then you know…that food is a MAJOR part of any vacation! This Summer we took our family vacation to Seaside, Florida and were thrilled to be hosted by Barefoot BBQ for some delicious BBQ, A M A Z I N G (and I really do mean = amazing!) Mac & Cheese, Smoked Chicken Salad sandwich, Smoked Tuna dip, drinks…and so much more!
I’ve said this before & I’ll say it again, Seaside FL is truly an incredible vacation destination. For us, it is the total beach experience & you can’t beat the emerald clear ocean water. But at night (and of course, the day too) the heart of the town, the people, the smells of glorious food cooking & grilling, and the all around atmosphere is what makes us love Seaside, FL even more. If you stay in Seaside you can walk to everything. Everything is centered around the grass outdoor amphitheater. Your kids will be begging to go to the beach during the day, but at night this spot above is where they’ll want to be to play at night. And the best part about it…you’ll want to be there too! It is truly a magical place!
If you’ve been to Seaside,FL then you know about the amazing row of Airstream trailers set up around the amphitheater that offer some of the best Organic food around! Murphy, the lovable & hardworking guy that owns Barefoot BBQ has a heart of gold, and it’s very evident in the ingredients, cooking, quality of products & most importantly the taste of his food. I was able to take the grand tour of Barefoot BBQ, while I snacked on some more amazing food & met so many amazing people that make Seaside the rare, unique classic beach town that it is!
They make almost everything from scratch! Including their incredible Beer Cheese that they place on their sandwiches & Mac & Cheese! The taste is amazing! It’s all done in their custom designed Airstream trailers & the 2 smokers, that are always going 24/7! The amount of people they serve during the prime tourist season vs the amount of room they have (or lack of room they have) is absolutely incredible. All their meats are grass fed, specialty meats that are smoked to perfection & the taste is out of this world!
Murphy has thought of absolutely everything! All the way down to recycling the dripping water out of his ice drink buckets for all the beloved pets to drink from while in Seaside. I recently wrote about our vacation to Seaside & how much we love the entire community. To refresh your memory, Seaside is the town where the movie The Truman Show was filmed. In fact, they’re celebrating the 15 year anniversary of the filming this Summer!
As I mentioned above, there’s several Airstream trailers serving up the best quality fast food around. My kids personal favorite was the Frost Bites Trailer! SNOW CONES! Over 100+ flavor combos! They even had a mobile bike snow cones on the go! Perfect for when you’re at the beach.
The town takes on a whole new glow at night. The combination of friendly families, the smell of food, the sound of kids laughing & playing, while being at the beach is the best kind of atmosphere to be around in my opinion.
Here’s the sunset while we were eating some great BBQ & the kids were playing on the amphitheater grass. It’s like the perfect way to say goodnight to a beautiful vacation day.
