Create a Thankful Wreath

November 5, 2015 by Kellie

Oh, November.  I truly have a crush on you.

I love the way you enter the year.  Right after the sugar high day of Halloween and for some reason your arrival is so perfectly timed.  You enter the year right when I need you the most.

November can be so calming, if you allow it.

It will you give you a warm embrace, and wrap you up in crunchy leaves, and crisp air.

As usual this time of year, I’m craving some calmness.  I want it for my soul and for my home.

Create a Thankful Wreath

I knew no matter the condition of my home, whether I had everything hung on my walls, all the boxes unpacked from our move, I wanted our family to create a Thankful Wreath this year.  We have so much to be thankful for, and I wanted to have that sense of gratitude in our home all month (and season) long.

Another reason why I love November is that it is centered around all things home.  The comfort, the scent of your home, the layers you can add, and the meals you prepare for the ones you love.

It’s pure comfort, if you allow it to be.

For our Thankful Wreath, I told my kids what I was trying to create with them.  Obviously, it’s probably the easiest decor you can add to your home, but most importantly it will be the most sentimental and hopefully  will help your entire family share what they are most thankful for this year.

How to make a Thankful Wreath

I bought the ribbon, place setting cards and the grapevine wreath at Hobby Lobby.  I handed my kids a sharpie and let them write down their own things.

Another thing I love about November is that perfection isn’t required.

Just comfort and calmness.  That’s all I want from this month.

Thankful Wreath

The year goes by fast enough.  There’s no reason to rush to the next month.

I’m getting wrinkles and gray hairs fast enough, mind you…

Create a Thankful Wreath that the entire family can do together

We will keep adding to it throughout the month.  But I already love it.  It’s imperfect but beautiful.

A family project. Make a Thankful Wreath

Just what my imperfect heart & soul have been craving.

Create a Thankful Wreath. Something the whole family can do together
