Slow Cooker Chocolate Peppermint Pretzels

November 12, 2019 by Kellie

Who loves a good Christmas snack?  Me, for sure.  Make it salty and sweet, and I’m all over it.  If you love a good salty and sweet combo like me, you’ll love these Slow Cooker Chocolate Peppermint Pretzels.

This combo is nothing “new” so to speak, but when you do it in a slow cooker, it makes everything easier!  The chocolate will melt in about an 30 to 40 minutes.  Of course everything depends on your slow cooker and the watts it uses.  But there’s something so nice about allowing your slow cooker to do the work for you when it comes to candy making!  You will not have to continually stand in the kitchen for this.  Just stir occasionally and but a load of laundry in!

The slow cooker chocolate peppermint pretzels are great when stored in a tin.  We typically make a few batches of these over the next few weeks.  They also make a great neighbor gift as well!

Ingredients

  • 1 12oz bag of white (vanilla) melting chips
  • 1 bag of white chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 5-6 crushed candy canes
  • 1/2 pound pretzels

Instructions

  1. Turn your slow cooker on low.  I recommend using a slow cooker liner, to make your cleaning a breeze!  Your chocolate should be melted in 30 -45 minutes.  Keep an eye on it, and stir occasionally.

  2. Pour your white melting chips & your white chocolate chips in your slow cooker.  Check on them every so often and stir.

  3. Once your chocolate has melted, pour half a bag of pretzels in your melted white chocolate.

  4. Once they are all covered with the melted chocolate, place the pretzels on wax paper (on a baking sheet) and add your crushed peppermint candies.

  5. Allow time for the white chocolate to get hard, and for the peppermint to attach.

  6. Store in air tight container for about 5 days - if they last that long!
